The three artists that I have chosen are Kathryn Kolb, Pirjo Keene and Sue Bishop. All three of them have inspiring ways to intrigue the audiences’ attention whether it is from the editing or the way the picture had been taken. Here are their images and why I chose them.
This artist blends away all the rough edges to reveal the flowers natural beauty and vanishes the real world. The true forms as well as that you can tell importance of the flower made of focus is to show its that this was taken where the flower was which makes this picture more natural and untouched by mankind. Natural lighting in all of these pictures shows the gentleness of the flowers however the vibrant colours attracted me to these pictures and made them beautiful naturally. The way each of these flowers have been placed make the image makes it the centre of attention and the pop of colour adds to the realisticness of the image. These images reminds me of summer/spring time when the sun shines in your face nonchalantly. The macro photography makes the viewer forget about the world around the picture.
The artist has a way to engage the audience by focusing our attention towards the flower/leaf to reveal bright vibrant colours. The positioning of each of these flowers make these images more attracting and stand out more. Bold colours such as red and orange in the last two pictures show confidence and fearlessness like they have fire within them. The first and last picture remind me of joyous spring days with fluffy clouds in the sky and new births which give good feelings. The middle image show autumn days and chilly weather reminding me of Halloween and the countdown to Christmas. These images complement each other and look like the seasons in three separate pictures. Pirjo Keene has also used macro photography.
Kathryn Kolb's work inspires me the most as it shows her perspective of nature how she takes the picture then edits them to create a unique set of pictures. I quite like the fact that she's taken some of the pictures from underneath the leaves which shows the different colours and how they contrast especially the first picture where the branches are visible and are framing the leaves. That image alone makes me think of just when the leaves are about to fall off and I like how she's specifically chosen this time of year too take the picture as it is a time of brightly coloured leaves and orange and brown contrasts. Even though the middle image isn't still life its still a beautiful image as the sun sets/rises in the background reflecting on the waters cool surface this technique is called worm eye view.
Double Exposure
The first three images below are not my own however I did edit them with a silhouette above an image on Sumo Paint an editing software similar to Photoshop.
Double exposure is when to pictures are layered to create on image with a deeper meaning. I love the idea of this because if done correctly the image could turn out beautiful and mysterious. I would want to try this for my still life final piece

Initial images
Pictures edited in the style of Sue Bishop
This image, that I have taken, is in the style of Sue Bishop and shows every detail of the flower. Even though the flower doesnt seem as delicate as the one Sue Bishop took, it still looks beautiful as it is. There isnt as much editing in the pictures. the steps I took in editing were: -quick selected section by section -used the field blur tool to blur out any inperfections in the background of the image such as the shadows and shine from the white background
This orchid was edited more than the last however it turned out just as good - I quick selected the reflection of the light and the area around it - I filled it in with black - Did this for each separate bit - Lastly I cropped it It resulted in this beautiful picture of the orchid.
The used the same process of editing for the picture below and above: -Quick selected the background -Added the field blur filter For the one above I used it to get rid of any imperfections in the background such as the shine or shadow and for the one below I used it to create an effect of sharpness on the flower.
Picture in the style of Pirjo Keene
This is the picture I used for my final piece however I used filters and temperature to make it a wintery theme this was done on VSCO on my phone.
Picture in the style of Kathryn Kolb
Here I experimented taking pictures around school with leaves and flowers. I think that they didn't come out as I hoped they would because they look very blurry and unprofessional
