My first idea was to incorporate shadows into my final piece because the main theme running through two of the artist was shadows so it would have been a good addition however I didn't know what exactly to do for it.
2. Drawing on pictures
Because most of the images were in black and white I thought drawing on them with different colours would give it the pop of colours it needs. I think that this is something I may still do.
3. Logos
I think that this was a really cool idea by the artist Barbara Kruger where she puts her ideas sarcastically in logos on the images.
Images taken in preparation for Exam:
I took pictures of a iridescent bag to layer over a few of the pictures.
The unedited pictures.
Plan
The other photographs that are black and white have been through a similar process in which I went onto image -> adjustments -> black and white and played around with the tones until I got the right amount of darkness.
This is what I used and did to put all the pictures in order and on the specific grid.
Start of 10 Hour Exam - Final Piece
Evaluation
I believe that this final piece is one of my best as the connection between the three artists are prominent. The main connection is the captions under each photo. This is a stanza from Maya Angelous' Alone in the first two and Shawn Mendes' In My Blood in the second one links each photograph to Ron Dadons work where he uses the captions to portray emotions and the feelings that goes on in peoples head. Another way I linked my artists was to use colour in black and white photographs. The first image and also the sixth have been layered in Photoshop and for the first image I have erased out parts of the layer for the black and white filter to come through. I have linked my work back to the exam title as I have used sunlight to cast shadows and darkness over models faces, walls and floors and used only colour filtered light in darkness on models faces. In addition, the caption also portrays darkness especially the last two lines where it quotes "But nobody, Can make it out here alone". It is very sinister and gives off bad vibes. I think I organized my time effectively as I was able to do a couple of variations of my final piece and was able to finish off any coursework in the exam unit.
